At the meeting with Major Koroma, my Special Envoy and Mr. Kouyaté stressed the commitment of the international community to the restoration of the constitutional order in Sierra Leone and the need for the junta to cooperate fully in the implementation of the Conakry Agreement.

Ambassador Kouyate and other officials, stressing the extent of the problem of internal displacement in the region, welcomed this initiative and further consultations are under way between the Office of the Representative and the ECOWAS secretariat with a view to convening such a seminar during 2002.
