My last report highlighted efforts to address the humanitarian impact of cluster munitions.

His delegation had been actively involved in the negotiations of the Group of Governmental Experts on a binding instrument to address the humanitarian impact of cluster munitions and regretted that the Group had not yet reached a balanced solution.

7. Expresses support for the work conducted by the Group of Governmental Experts to negotiate a proposal to address urgently the humanitarian impact of cluster munitions, while striking a balance between military and humanitarian considerations, and to make every effort to negotiate this proposal as rapidly as possible and report on the progress made to the next Meeting of the High Contracting Parties, in November 2008;
7 - تعرب عن تأييدها للعمل الذي يضطلع به فريق الخبراء الحكوميين من أجل التفاوض بشأن اقتراح للتصدي بشكل عاجل لأثر الذخائر العنقودية في البشر، مع تحقيق توازن بين الاعتبارات العسكرية والإنسانية، ولبذل كل الجهود للتفاوض بشأن هذا الاقتراح بأسرع ما يمكن وإبلاغ الاجتماع المقبل للأطراف المتعاقدة السامية المقرر عقده في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2008 بما أحرز من تقدم؛

The Group will continue its negotiations informed by the Chair's text on a draft protocol on cluster munitions (CCW/GGE/2010-II/WP.2) and taking into account other past, present and future proposals by delegations, with a view to making a recommendation for consideration by the Fourth Review Conference to address urgently the humanitarian impact of cluster munitions while striking a balance between military and humanitarian considerations.
وسيواصل الفريق مفاوضاته، استناداً إلى نص مشروع بروتوكول يتعلق بالذخائر العنقودية مقدم من الرئيس (CCW/GGE/2010-II/WP.2) مع مراعاة جميع المقترحات السابقة والحالية والمستقبلية المقدمة من الوفود، بهدف صياغة توصية لينظر فيها المؤتمر الاستعراضي الرابع، وذلك من أجل التصدي على وجه السرعة لأثر الذخائر العنقودية الإنساني بطريقة تؤمن التوازن بين الاعتبارات العسكرية والإنسانية.
