The Optional Protocol entered into force for Italy on 15 December 1978.
وقد دخل البروتوكول الاختياري حيز النفاذ بالنسبة لإيطاليا في 15 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1978.

As Italy's national contribution to today's debate, I wish to make a few additional remarks.

The Covenant and the Optional Protocol entered into force for Italy on 30 April 1976 and 15 September 1978, respectively.

The reason for this was that he had already been extradited to Italy on 11 July 1996 pursuant to the National High Court's decision on the first extended extradition request.

Pursuant to rule 15 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General wishes to report that he has received a note verbale dated 9 May 2008 from the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations stating that Amedeo Trambajolo has been appointed alternate representative of Italy on the Security Council.
عملا بالمادة 15 من النظام الداخلي المؤقت لمجلس الأمن، يود الأمين العام الإفادة بأنه تلقى مذكرة شفوية مؤرخة 9 أيار/مايو 2008 من البعثة الدائمة لإيطاليا لدى الأمم المتحدة تذكر فيها أنه تم تعيين أميديو ترامباجولو ممثلا مناوبا لإيطاليا في مجلس الأمن.

Pursuant to rule 15 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General wishes to report that he has received credentials, signed on 25 July 2008 by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy, stating that Mr. Giulio Terzi di Sant'Agata has been appointed representative of Italy on the Security Council.

In response to a request by the COP/MOP, at its first session, the SBSTA considered the request made by the Government of Italy in relation to the numerical value for forest management under Article 3, paragraph 4, of the Kyoto Protocol inscribed for Italy in the appendix to the annex to decision 16/CMP.1.
104- استجابة لطلب مؤتمر الأطراف العامل بوصفه اجتماع الأطراف في بروتوكول كيوتو في دورته الأولىٍ()، نظرت الهيئة الفرعية في الطلب المقدم من حكومة إيطاليا() فيما يتعلق بالقيمة الرقمية لإدارة الأحراج بموجب الفقرة 4 من المادة 3 من بروتوكول كيوتو والتي سُجِّلت لإيطاليا في تذييل مرفق المقرر 16/م - أإ-1.

Background: The COP/MOP, at its first session, took note of the request by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on behalf of the European Community and its member States to reconsider the numerical value for forest management under Article 3, paragraph 4, of the Kyoto Protocol inscribed for Italy in the appendix to the annex to decision 16/CMP.1 in the context of paragraph 12 of that decision.
38- خلفية: أحاط مؤتمر الأطراف العامل بوصفه اجتماع الأطراف في دورته الأولى() علماً بطلب المملكة المتحدة لبريطانيا العظمى وآيرلندا الشمالية المقدم باسم الجماعة الأوروبية والدول الأعضاء فيها والمتعلق بإعادة النظر في القيمة الرقمية لإدارة الأحراج بموجب الفقرة 4 من المادة 3 من بروتوكول كيوتو والتي سُجلت لإيطاليا في التذييل الوارد في مرفق القرار 16/م أإ-1 في سياق الفقرة 12 من ذلك المقرر.

Accordingly, the Convention has become an integral part of Italy's domestic law following its ratification by the Parliament and signature by the President of the Republic on 3 August 2009, and entry into force on 4 November 2009 in accordance with Article 68 of the Convention.
وهكذا، فقد أصبحت الاتفاقية جزءاً متمِّماً للقانون الداخلي لإيطاليا في أعقاب تصديق البرلمان عليها وتوقيع رئيس الجمهورية عليها في 3 آب/أغسطس 2009، ودخولها حيِّز النفاذ في 4 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2009 وفقاً للمادة 68 من الاتفاقية.
