42. CAT recommended that Latvia should strengthen its efforts to provide victims of torture and ill-treatment with redress and fair and adequate compensation.

UNHCR recommended that Latvia guarantee full respect of the non-refoulement principle by ensuring access of asylum-seekers to the territory and the national asylum procedure, especially at the entry points to the country.

كما أوصت لاتفيا بأن تنظر في توفير مترجمين تحريريين وشفويين في المكاتب التابعة للدولة والبلديات، وخصوصاً في المناطق التي توجد بها كثافة عالية من المتحدثين بلغات الأقليات(121).

CAT recommended that Latvia ensure that detention of asylum-seekers is used only in exceptional circumstances or as a last resort, and for the shortest possible time; and extend the time limits established under the accelerated asylum procedure.
وأوصت لاتفيا بأن تضمن ألا يُحتجز ملتمسو اللجوء إلا في ظروف استثنائية أو كملاذ أخير، ولأقصر مدة ممكنة؛ وأن تمدد المهل الزمنية المنصوص عليها بموجب إجراء اللجوء المعجل(133).

JS1 recommended that Latvia take all necessary legislative, administrative and other measures to eliminate and prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender identity in public and private employment.

25. CoE CPT also expressed concerns at the material conditions of police detention facilities it visited and recommended Latvia to improve them without delay.
