47. As a follow-up to the Presidential statement issued in January as a result of the debate on the situation in Africa (S/PRST/2002/2), which established an ad hoc Working Group on conflict prevention and resolution in Africa, the terms of reference for that Group were negotiated in February and published as a note by the President of the Security Council (S/2002/207).
