1. At its first session, the Commission for Social Development acting as preparatory committee for the Second World Assembly on Ageing is expected to:

(a) Addendum to the report of the Commission for Social Development acting as the preparatory committee for the Second World Assembly on Ageing on the second part of its resumed first sessin (E/2001/71/Add.1);

22. At the 46th meeting, on 20 December, on the proposal of the President, the Council took note of the report of the Commission for Social Development acting as the preparatory committee for the Second World Assembly on Ageing on the second part of its resumed first session (E/2001/71/Add.1).

196. At the 46th meeting, on 20 December, on the proposal of the President, the Council took note of the report of the Commission for Social Development acting as the preparatory committee for the Second World Assembly on Ageing on the second part of its resumed first session (E/2001/71/Add.1).

Under this item, the draft political declaration and the draft international plan of action on ageing, 2002, as contained in A/CONF.197/3/Add.1 and Add.2, respectively, and approved by the Commission for Social Development acting as the Preparatory Committee at its second session, held in New York from 25 February to 1 March 2002, will be submitted to the Assembly for further consideration and adoption.
