In preparation for the special session of the General Assembly on the implementation of the outcome of the summit and further initiatives, the Commission will review and appraise progress made in the implementation of and follow-up to the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and the Programme of Action of the World Summit for Social Development.
ستقوم اللجنة، استعدادا لدورة الجمعية العامة الاستثنائية المعنية بتنفيذ نتائج مؤتمر القمة والمبادرات اﻹضافية، باستعراض وتقييم التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ ومتابعة إعلان كوبنهاغن بشــأن التنميــة الاجتماعيـة وبرنامج عمل مؤتمر القمة العالمي للتنمية الاجتماعية.

It will also identify areas where further initiatives are needed for consideration by the Preparatory Committee for the special session of the General Assembly on the Implementation of the Outcome of the World Summit for Social Development and Further Initiatives, in regard to discussing how these initiatives would further assist implementation.
وستحدد اللجنة أيضا المجالات التي تحتاج إلى مزيد من المبادرات لكي تنظر فيها اللجنة التحضيرية لدورة الجمعية العامة الاستثنائية المعنية بتنفيذ نتائج مؤتمر القمة العالمي للتنمية الاجتماعية والمبادرات اﻹضافية بصدد مناقشة الكيفية التي ستسهم بها هذه المبادرات في تيسير التنفيذ.
