The State of Bahrain takes pride in this achievement at the regional and international levels. It makes available equal opportunities to both men and women in the fields, inter alia, of education, health care and social welfare, as these are basic priorities of human rights for which Bahrain's efforts have been applauded by United Nations human rights bodies and experts.

The State of Bahrain acceded to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 20 November 1989, under the terms of Amiral Decree No. 16 of 1991, which was published in the Official Gazette on 4 September 1991, and the Convention entered into force in the State of Bahrain on 14 March 1992.
1- انضمت دولة البحرين لإتفاقية حقوق الطفل التى اعتمدتها الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في 20 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 1989 بموجب المرسوم الأميرى رقم 16 لسنة 1991 الذى نشر بالجريدة الرسمية في 4 أيلول/سبتمبر 1991. وقـد دخلت الإتفاقية حيـز النفـاذ بالنسبة لدولة البحرين بتاريخ 14 آذار/مارس 1992.

The Permanent Mission of the State of Bahrain to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 864 (1993) concerning the situation in Angola, and has the honour to state that the Government of the State of Bahrain has taken the necessary measures to implement the provisions of Security Council resolutions 1127 (1997) and 1173 (1998).

In the area of foreign relations and the fulfilment of national and international obligations, the State of Bahrain's contributions to the maintenance of international peace and security are evidenced by the close relations it maintains with brotherly and friendly States on the basis of cooperation, mutual interests, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of other States.
وفي إطار انفتاحها على محيطها الخارجي ووفائها بالتزاماتها القومية والدولية، فإن لدولة البحرين إسهاماتها في مجال المحافظة على الأمن والسلم الدوليين تتجلى فيما تقيمه من علاقات أخوية وودية وثيقة مع الدول الشقيقة، والصديقة قوامها التعاون وتبادل المصالح، وأساسها الاحترام المتبادل وعدم التدخل في الشؤون الداخلية للدول.
