4. The Advisory Committee recommends that the General Assembly approve the acceptance of five additional buildings pledged by the Government of Italy in support of the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi.

b In resolution 53/233 the General Assembly appropriated $1,738,493 for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi and $8,865,888 for the support account for peacekeeping operations.

8. As at 31 May 1999, the General Assembly had authorized for the period from 1 July 1999 to 30 June 2000 an amount of $644.1 million for 12 active missions and liquidation requirements for one completed mission as well as for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi and the support account.

By its resolution 53/228 of 8 June 1999, the General Assembly appropriated an amount of $7,441,540 gross ($7,083,840 net) for the liquidation of MONUA, inclusive of the amount of $369,153 for the support account for peacekeeping operations and $72,387 for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi.

Decides to appropriate to the Special Account for the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea the amount of 230,845,300 dollars for the period from 1 July 2002 to 30 June 2003, inclusive of 220,830,200 dollars for the maintenance of the Mission, 8,943,600 dollars for the support account for peacekeeping operations and 1,071,500 dollars for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi;
13 - تقــرر أن تعتمد للحساب الخـاص لبعثة الأمم المتحدة في إثيوبيا وإريتريا مبلغ 300 845 230 دولار للفترة من 1 تموز/يوليه 2002 إلى 30 حزيران/يونيه 2003، وتشمل مبلغا قدره 200 830 220 دولار لاستمرار البعثة، ومبلغ 600 943 8 دولار لحساب دعم عمليات حفظ السلام، ومبلغ 500 071 1 دولار لقاعدة الأمم المتحدة للسوقيات في برينديزي؛

Decides to appropriate to the Special Account for the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia the amount of 33,143,700 dollars for the period from 1 July 2002 to 30 June 2003, inclusive of 31,705,800 dollars for the maintenance of the Observer Mission, 1,284,100 dollars for the support account for peacekeeping operations and 153,800 dollars for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi;

On the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, the General Assembly, by its resolution 56/251 B of 27 June 2002, appropriated to the Special Account for UNAMSIL the amount of $699,838,300 for the period from 1 July 2002 to 30 June 2003, inclusive of $669,476,400 for the maintenance of the Mission, $27,113,600 for the support account and $3,248,300 for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi, Italy.

4. On the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, the General Assembly, in its resolution 56/295 of 27 June 2002, appropriated to the Special Account for UNMIK the amount of $344,966,100 for the period from 1 July 2002 to 30 June 2003, inclusive of $330,000,000 for the maintenance of the Mission, $13,364,900 for the support account for peacekeeping operations and $1,601,200 for the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi, Italy.

93. The Special Committee invites the Secretariat to explore means of enhancing the logistics readiness of the United Nations, in particular through a broader use of the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi and reserve stocks, as well as a reassessment of the start-up kits, including their scope and number.

4. As regards the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL), the General Assembly, in its resolution 54/241 B of 15 June 2000, approved a budget for the Mission amounting to $504,399,051 gross (inclusive of the prorated share of the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi and the support account for peacekeeping operations) for the period from 1 July 2000 to 30 June 2001.
