2. By the same decision, the COP requested the Committee on Science and Technology (CST) to provide advice to the COP at its ninth session on how best to measure progress on strategic objectives 1, 2, and 3 of The Strategy:
2- وفي المقرر نفسه، طلب مؤتمر الأطراف إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن تُسدي المشورة إلى المؤتمر في دورته التاسعة بشأن أفضل طريقة لقياس التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ الأهداف الاستراتيجية 1 و2 و3 من الاستراتيجية:

51. Document ICCD/CRIC(8)/5/Add.6 will contain input from the CST on how best to measure progress on strategic objectives 1, 2 and 3 of The Strategy, on the basis of the deliberations and outcomes of the CST at its ninth session.
51- وستتضمن الوثيقة ICCD/CRIC(8)/5/Add.6() إسهامات لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا بشأن أفضل طريقة لقياس التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ الأهداف الاستراتيجية 1 و2 و3 المحددة في الاستراتيجية، وذلك بالاستناد إلى جملة أمور، منها مداولات لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا في دورتها التاسعة وما تتوصل إليه من نتائج.

The same decision also requested the CST to provide advice to the CRIC on how best to measure progress on strategic objectives 1, 2 and 3 (ICCD/CRIC(8)/5/Add.6), providing a minimum set of impact indicators for strategic objectives 1,2, and 3.
وطلب المقرر نفسه أيضاً إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا تقديم المشورة للجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية بشأن أفضل السبل لقياس التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ الأهداف الاستراتيجية 1 و2 و3 (ICCD/CRIC(8)/5/Add.6)، وتوفير مجموعة تتضمن الحد الأدنى من مؤشرات الأثر المتعلقة بالأهداف الاستراتيجية 1 و2 و3.

The secretariat in consultation with the Bureau of the CST has developed three documents for consideration by the CST: one on the draft two-year work programme, one on the draft four-year work plan and one on consideration of elements for provision of advice on how best to measure progress on strategic objectives 1, 2 and 3 of The Strategy.
