The Secretary-General indicates that, for the United Nations and other participating organizations of the common system, the financial implications, on an annual basis, of the 1.97 per cent upward adjustment of the current base/floor salary scale for staff in the Professional and higher categories are estimated at $348,700 owing to the increased level of separation payments (see A/62/336, para. 4).
