The situation of human rights defenders still has to be improved in several areas to comply with the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, known as the Declaration on human rights defenders.

1. Calls upon all States to promote and give full effect to the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms;

The General Assembly would no doubt recognize the important contribution of fellow activists by adopting the draft declaration on the right and responsibility of individuals, groups and organs of society to promote and protect universally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms.
وستسجل الجمعية العامة بدون شك الدور اﻷساسي الذي يؤديه هؤلاء الشركاء، وذلك باعتمادها لﻹعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية اﻷفراد والمجموعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق اﻹنسان والحريات اﻷساسية المعترف بها عالميا.

As a result, the grounds to refuse registration of " Helsinki XXI " are not prescribed by law and the refusal itself is contrary to the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

In the fifteen years after its adoption by the General Assembly in the latter's resolution 53/44, the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms has been very widely disseminated and promoted by various stakeholders.
89 - بعد مضي خمسة عشر عاماً عن اعتماد الجمعية العامة للإعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية الأفراد والجماعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية المعترف بها عالميا في قرارها 53/44، قامت مختلف الأطراف المعنية بنشره والترويج له على نطاق واسع جداً.

Norway asked, while noting and appreciating the United Kingdom's strong engagement for human rights defenders around the world, whether the delegation could elaborate on the steps taken to implement the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
49- ولاحظت النرويج مع التقدير التزام المملكة المتحدة التزاماً قوياً بمناصرة المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان في جميع أنحاء العالم، فطلبت إلى وفد المملكة المتحدة أن يقدم شرحاً عما اتخذ من خطوات تنفيذاً للإعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية الأفراد والجماعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية المعترف بها عالمياً.

49. 49- ونوّهت النرويج مع التقدير بانخراط المملكة المتحدة انخراطاً قوياً مناصَرةً للمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان في جميع أنحاء العالم، فطلبت إلى وفدها أن يقدم شرحاً عما اتخذ من خطوات تنفيذاً للإعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية الأفراد والجماعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية المعترف بها عالمياً.

Lastly, he suggested that a United Nations declaration on the protection of journalists and the role of journalists, similar to the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (the Declaration on Human Rights Defenders), could contribute to universal acceptance of the role and importance of free and critical journalism.
وأخيراً، اقترح وضع إعلان للأمم المتحدة بشأن حماية الصحفيين والدور الذي يؤدونه، مشابه للإعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية الأفراد والجماعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية المعترف بها عالمياً (المعروف باسم إعلان المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان)، قائلاً إن الإعلان يمكن أن يساهم في تقبّل دور الصحافة الحرة الناقدة وأهميتها في كل أنحاء العالم.

16. The preparation within the Sub—Commission of principles and guidelines as well as the first draft declaration on the right and responsibility of individuals, groups and organs of society to promote and protect universally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms paved the way for the establishment by the Commission of the working group which elaborated what is known as the Declaration on Human Rights Defenders.
٦١- وإن إعداد اللجنة الفرعية للمبادئ والقواعد التوجيهية وللمشروع اﻷول لﻹعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية اﻷفراد والجماعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق اﻹنسان والحريات اﻷساسية قد مهد السبيل أمام لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان ﻹنشاء الفريق العامل الذي تولى وضع اﻹعلان المسمى بإعلان المدافعين عن حقوق اﻹنسان.
