Within the framework of the same programme, the Department has also begun preparation of the 1995 International Encounter for journalists on the question of Palestine, which will be held at Prague from 13 to 15 June and will be co-sponsored by the Government of the Czech Republic.

The Department continued to distribute its publications, including Promoting a Culture for Peace in the Middle East: An Israeli-Palestinian Dialogue, based on the proceedings of the International Encounter for journalists on the question of Palestine, organized by the Department in London in June 1993, as well as the new, revised edition of The United Nations and the Question of Palestine, published in October 1994.

The Department also undertook the preparation of a new publication based on the proceedings of the International Encounter for journalists on the question of Palestine, on the subject " Prerequisites for peace in the Middle East " , held at Elsinore, Denmark, from 15 to 17 June 1994, and distributed a " United Nations focus " feature on the same topic.
