If justice is to be dispensed to all sectors of society, the first concern must be to give effect to the content of the recent Law of 11 July 1991 concerning indigenous peoples, which recommends inter alia the adoption of measures to protect the members of the indigenous population, taking into account their customs and customary law, providing that such measures are not incompatible with the fundamental principles of the national legal system.
