Annex III: Amendments to the second revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification

Considering that one of the stated aims of the Harmonized System is to facilitate the collection, comparison and analysis of international trade statistics,

. The general structure of HS is as follows:

:: Continuing work on the development of an advanced training course ( " Classifying chemicals according to the Globally Harmonized System, and Globally Harmonized System labels and safety data sheets " ) addressing the technical aspects of the Globally Harmonized System in more detail, focusing on classification of physical, health and environmental hazards

The Working Group of Diamond Experts reported to the plenary that it had fulfilled the mandate it received in Sun City to address the misclassification of rough diamonds in the context of the Harmonized System (HS) customs codes.

6. The United Nations Statistics Division has continued its annual request to countries to supply their detailed international merchandise trade statistics to the Division in terms of the HS, or national classification if the country has not adopted the HS.

For example, the expected revision to the Harmonized System (HS) in 2007 would imply that ISIC should not be revised immediately before that time.
