Decision OEWG-9/5, on technical guidelines on transboundary movements of electronic and electrical waste and used electrical and electronic equipment, in particular regarding the distinction between waste and non-waste under the Basel Convention, is set out in the annex to the present report.

Takes note of the information provided by the Secretariat on progress in the development of the draft technical guidelines on transboundary movements of electronic and electrical waste (e-waste), in particular regarding the distinction between waste and non-waste;

1. Adopts the technical guidelines on transboundary movements of electronic and electrical waste and used electrical and electronic equipment, in particular regarding the distinction between waste and non-waste under the Basel Convention;

(f) To promote the environmentally sound management of electronic and electrical waste; PCBs and other POP wastes; obsolete stocks of pesticides; biomedical and health care wastes; used oils; used lead-acid batteries; and the by-products of ship dismantling;
