However, they were insufficient to establish the plausibility of the author's claim that if returned to Armenia he would suffer a treatment contrary to article 7 of the Covenant.

5.5 The complainant concludes that the statements and evidence submitted show that if he returned to Togo he would be subjected to treatment contrary to article 3 of the Convention.

4.3 On the merits, the State party claims that concerning his allegations under article 7 of the Covenant, the author failed to raise sufficient information indicating that there is an inevitable and predictable consequence that he will be exposed to treatment contrary to article 7 should he be returned to China.
4-3 وفي ما يخص الأسس الموضوعية للشكوى، تقول الدولة الطرف إن صاحب البلاغ لم يوفّر في ادعاءاته بموجب المادة 7 من العهد معلومات كافية تشير إلى أن تعرضه لمعاملة تتنافى مع المادة 7 من العهد في حال عودته إلى الصين، أمر حتمي ومتوقع.

Still, given that the author was never politically active, given that he is no longer a police officer, and given the passage of time since the disputed 2008 election, the Committee cannot conclude that the author would face a real risk of treatment contrary to article 7 of the Covenant if he were returned to Armenia.

8.4 Referring to the arguments that Mrs. Bakhtiyari and her children, if removed to Afghanistan, would be in fear of being subjected to treatment contrary to article 7 of the Covenant, the Committee observes that as the authors have not been removed from Australia, the issue before the Committee is whether such removal if implemented at the present time would entail a real risk of treatment contrary to article 7 as a consequence.
