The Working Group heard an oral report on the technical assistance and coordination activities undertaken by the Secretariat, including the promotion of UNCITRAL texts on electronic commerce.

The Commission was informed that the Secretariat was exploring various means of responding to the growing need for uniform interpretation of UNCITRAL texts.
347- وأُبلغت اللجنة بأن الأمانة تستقصي الوسائل المختلفة لتلبية الحاجة المتزايدة إلى التفسير المتسق لنصوص الأونسيترال.

The Commission also took note of the desirability of establishing within its secretariat a third pillar concentrating on the promotion of ways and means of encouraging uniform interpretation of UNCITRAL texts.

First, the general approach adopted in the draft Recommendation seemed to run against the fundamental principles of UNCITRAL texts on electronic commerce, in particular, the principle of technology neutrality, by favouring a specific type of electronic signature.
