Ukraine's interest in developing strong and mutually beneficial partnerships with the African countries was recently reaffirmed by the President of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma, during his meetings with African leaders in Johannesburg.

A remarkable event took place on 28 January in the history of Ukraine and the Russian Federation: Presidents Leonid Kuchma and Vladimir Putin signed the Treaty on the Ukrainian-Russian State Border.
