CPC had reviewed and endorsed the reports of the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) entitled " Review and assessment of efforts to restructure the regional dimension of United Nations economic and social activities " and " Communication for development programmes in the United Nations system " , while noting the views and reservations expressed during the discussions.

155. The report reviews past and current efforts to restructure the regional dimension of United Nations economic and social activities. It explains the difficulties encountered and reasons why past efforts did not achieve the results that had been sought.
١٥٥ - يستعرض التقرير الجهود السابقة والجارية ﻹعادة تشكيل البعد اﻹقليمي لﻷنشطة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي تضطلع بها اﻷمم المتحدة، ويبين الصعوبات التي تمت مواجهتها واﻷسباب التي حالت دون تحقيق الجهود السابقة للنتائج المرجوة.

In this connection it should be noted that at its eighteenth ministerial session, held in June 1992 at Nairobi, WFC set in motion a process to review its future role and functioning within the wider context of the overall restructuring of the economic and social activities of the United Nations system.
