1. Article 8, paragraph 2, of the Convention provides that the functions of the secretariat shall be, inter alia, to make arrangements for sessions of the Conference of the Parties and its subsidiary bodies and to provide them with services as required.
1- تنص الفقرة 2 من المادة 8 من الاتفاقية على أن تتولى الأمانة، في جملة أمور، اتخاذ الترتيبات المتعلقة بدورات مؤتمر الأطراف ودورات هيئاته الفرعية وتقديم الخدمات اللازمة إليها.

Article 8.2 of the Convention provides that the functions of the secretariat shall be, inter alia, “to make arrangements for sessions of the Conference of the Parties and its subsidiary bodies established under the Convention and to provide them with services as required”.
1- تنص المادة 8-2 من الاتفاقية على أن يكون من مهام الأمانة " اتخاذ الترتيبات المتعلقة بدورات مؤتمر الأطراف ودورات هيئاته الفرعية المنشأة بموجب الاتفاقية وتقديم الخدمات اللازمة إليها " .

The SBI also recommended that the sessions of the subsidiary bodies be convened in conjunction with the sessions of the COP and COP/MOP, and that meetings of the SBI and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) be held in parallel.
كما أوصت الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ بأن تُعقد دورات الهيئتين الفرعيتين بالتزامن مع انعقاد دورات مؤتمر الأطراف ودورات مؤتمر الأطراف العامل بوصفه اجتماع الأطراف في بروتوكول كيوتو، وأن تُعقد جلسات الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ بالتوازي مع انعقاد جلسات الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية.

Observer organizations admitted to previous sessions of the COP will be admitted to the COP/MOP; a single process will be used in the future for the admission of all observers to both the COP and the COP/MOP, with the COP taking the decision on the admission of all observers.
