Consistent with the terms of that Convention it should encourage countries to consider ways and means for the effective protection and use of forest-related knowledge, innovations and practices of forest-dwellers, indigenous people and other local communities, as well as fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from such knowledge, innovations and practices.
