4. In this context, the General Assembly approved commitment authority for 2009 for the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq in the amount of $5 million dollars under section 32 of the programme budget for the biennium 2008-2009 to undertake design work in connection with the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad.

Mr. Melrose (United States of America), expressing strong support in principle for all United Nations special political missions, said that his delegation agreed with the Secretary-General's request for approval from the General Assembly for a commitment authority to undertake design work for the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad.

During a visit by the then Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs to Iraq in June 2011, the Prime Minister of the Government of Iraq agreed that the $50 million allocated by the Republic of Iraq to the trust fund established in support of the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad be redirected for use for required renovations and additional construction in the acquired Diwan/D-2 compound.

Requests the Secretary-General to submit a new, complete and detailed proposal for the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad, under section 32 of the programme budget, for its consideration early in the second part of its resumed sixty-third session, with detailed comprehensive financial requirements and clear timelines for the different phases of its implementation;
6 - تطلب إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم اقتراحا جديدا وكاملا ومفصلا بشأن تشييد مجمع الأمم المتحدة المتكامل في بغداد، في إطار الباب 32 من الميزانية البرنامجية، لتنظر فيه في بداية الجزء الثاني من دورتها الثالثة والستين المستأنفة، مع معلومات مفصلة عن الاحتياجات المالية الشاملة وجدول زمني واضح لمختلف مراحل تنفيذه؛

In section V, paragraph 15, of its resolution 62/238, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit a new, complete and detailed proposal for the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad, under section 32, Construction, alteration, improvement and major maintenance, of the programme budget, for its consideration at the first part of its resumed sixty-second session.

25. The Advisory Committee recommends that the General Assembly request the Secretary-General to submit a new, complete and detailed proposal for the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad, under section 32, Construction, alteration, improvement and major maintenance, of the programme budget, for its consideration at the sixty-third session, taking into account the elements referred to in the present report.

In section X of its resolution 63/263, the General Assembly approved a commitment authority for $5 million for UNAMI in 2009 under section 32, Construction, alteration, improvement and major maintenance, of the programme budget for the biennium 2008-2009, to undertake design work in connection with the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad.

(c) That the General Assembly approve commitment authority for UNAMI in an amount of up to $5 million under section 33, Construction, alteration, improvement and major maintenance, of the proposed programme budget for the biennium 2010-2011, to undertake design work in connection with the construction of the United Nations integrated compound in Baghdad.
(ج) أن توافق الجمعية العامة على منح سلطة الدخول في التزامات، من أجل بعثة الأمم المتحدة لتقديم المساعدة إلى العراق، بمبلغ لا يتعدى 5 ملايين دولار في إطار الباب 33، التشييد والتعديلات، والتحسينات وأعمال الصيانة الرئيسية من الميزانية البرنامجية المقترحة لفترة السنتين 2010-2011، للقيام بأعمال التصميم المرتبطة بتشييد مجمع الأمم المتحدة المتكامل في بغداد.
