Turning to the note by the Secretary-General contained in document A/57/361, he recalled that the General Assembly, in paragraph 69 of its resolution 56/253, had requested the Secretary-General to further enhance cooperation between relevant headquarters departments and regional commissions in order to ensure the quality of output and services to Member States and address the duplication and overlap of services, where they existed.

As described in the note by the Secretary-General contained in document A/67/105/Rev.1, the General Assembly at its current session will be required to appoint four members and four alternate members to fill the vacancies that will occur in the membership of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Committee, for a four-year term of office beginning on 1 January 2013.
