2. The Advisory Committee has considered the notes by the Secretary-General (A/C.5/59/3 and Corr.1 and Add.1) on the request for a subvention of $227,600 for 2005 and on the continuing need for this subvention to UNIDIR resulting from the recommendation of the Board of Trustees of the Institute on the work programme of the Institute for 2005.

The Chair also drew the attention of the Committee to the notes by the Secretary-General transmitting his comments and those of the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (A/64/95/Add.1 and A/64/96/Add.1) and to the statement of the Director of that Office.

20. Mr. Herman (United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination), introducing the notes by the Secretary-General (A/65/63/Add.1 and A/65/346/Add.1) conveying his comments and those of CEB on the two JIU reports that had just been introduced, said that CEB members welcomed the two reports as timely and relevant.
