Decides to include in the provisional agenda of its fiftieth session the item entitled " United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa, United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific and United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean " .

5. Encourages the Secretary-General to continue his efforts in the context of the implementation of resolution 49/75 G to curb the illicit circulation of small arms and to collect such arms in the affected States which so request, with the support of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa and in close cooperation with the Organization of African Unity,

The United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific, established in 1988, functions under the auspices of the Office for Disarmament Affairs, which acts as the focal point for coordinating inputs to the activities of the Centre by Member States, non-governmental organizations, and pertinent organs, programmes and agencies of the United Nations system.
