5. The Secretary-General of CARICOM held consultations with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and his senior officials in October 1995 and in February 1996.

٢٧ - وفي طريق العودة إلى نيويورك، توقفت البعثة في أديس أبابا ﻹجراء مشاورات مع اﻷمين العام لمنظمة الوحدة الافريقية، السيد سليم أحمد سليم، وقامت بزيارة اﻷمين التنفيذي للجنة الاقتصادية ﻷفريقيا، السيد العياشي ياكر.

At that session, the Assembly, inter alia, requested the Secretary-General to carry out consultations with the Secretary-General of the Committee with a view to further strengthening the cooperation between the two organizations and widening the scope of that cooperation (resolution 36/38).

On the occasion of the commemoration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of AALCC, the General Assembly, in its resolution 36/38 of 18 November 1981, requested the Secretary-General of the United Nations to hold consultations with the Secretary-General of AALCC with a view to further strengthening and widening the scope of cooperation between the two organizations.
٣ - وبمناسبة الاحتفال بمرور خمسة وعشرين سنة على إنشاء اللجنة الاستشارية، طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى اﻷمين العام، في قرارها ٦٣/٨٣ المؤرخ ٨١ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٨٩١، أن يجري مشاورات مع اﻷمين العام للجنة الاستشارية بهدف زيادة تدعيم التعاون وتوسيع نطاقه بين المنظمتين.

It is in recognition of this important role that 15 years ago the General Assembly, in its resolution 36/38 of 18 November 1981 requested the Secretary-General of the United Nations to carry out consultations with the Secretary-General of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Committee with a view to strengthening further and widening the scope of cooperation between the two organizations in certain areas of common concern.

5. In the course of his mission, which lasted from 18 February to 2 March 1996, my Special Envoy held consultations with the Secretary-General of OAU at its headquarters in Addis Ababa and met with the authorities in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda, the Sudan, Egypt and Tunisia.
٥ - أثناء البعثة التي استمرت من ١٨ شباط/فبراير الى ٢ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٦، أجرى مبعوثي الخاص مشاورات مع اﻷمين العام لمنظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية في مقرها بأديس أبابا ومع السلطات في اثيوبيا واريتريا وأوغندا والسودان ومصر وتونس.

29. Following consultations with the Secretary-General and preliminary discussions with the representatives of the two parties and the neighbouring countries, Algeria and Mauritania, in New York on 2 April, the Personal Envoy undertook an exploratory mission to the region from 23 to 28 April.
