On 29 April 1999, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia applied to the International Court of Justice in The Hague on the basis of article 73 of the Rules of the Court, with a request for the indication of provisional measures against 10 States members of NATO, including Germany (the Legality of Use of Force case).
