20. During the period under review, the Committee considered and approved one request, in accordance with paragraph 2 (f) of resolution 1521 (2003), for an exception to the arms embargo to allow the shipment to Liberia of non-lethal military equipment, for use in drilling boreholes to provide water in outlying villages.

During its visits to the international airport of Abidjan and in cooperation with the UNOCI Integrated Embargo Monitoring Unit, the Group collected documents proving that non-lethal military equipment (bulletproof vests) had been delivered to Côte d’Ivoire in November 2013 without notification to the Committee, which constitutes a violation of the embargo.
117 - قام الفريق خلال زياراته إلى مطار أبيدجان الدولي، وبالتعاون مع الوحدة المتكاملة لرصد الحظر التابعة لعملية الأمم المتحدة في كوت ديفوار، بجمع وثائق تثبت أن معدات عسكرية غير فتاكة (سترات واقية من الرصاص) قد سُلّمت إلى كوت ديفوار في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2013، من دون أن تُخطر اللجنة بذلك، وهو ما يشكل انتهاكا للحظر.

The Group is not aware of any notification to the Committee of arms shipments as required under resolution 1596 (2005), except in the cases of Switzerland (27 April 2005), the United Kingdom (20 May 2005) and Denmark (7 June 2005), which notified the Committee of transfers of non-lethal military equipment to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
