(c) Improve the effectiveness of the monitoring system in order to ensure that abuse of power by teachers or other professionals working with and for children does not take place in schools and other institutions.

(b) Strengthen its efforts in disseminating information on the Convention and its implementation and develop systematic and ongoing training programmes on the provisions of the Convention for all professional groups working with or for children.

However, recommendations regarding, inter alia, non-discrimination (para. 26), training and education for professionals working with or for children (paras. 27 and 32), child labour (para. 33), sexual abuse and domestic violence (para. 35) and juvenile justice (para. 36) have not been given sufficient follow-up.

GIEACPC referred to the Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child in 2002 following the exam of Seychelles initial report, where the Committee expressed concern at corporal punishment of children and recommended public education campaigns on its negative consequences and promoting positive discipline, and relevant professional training for persons working with or for children.
4- وأشارت المبادرة العالمية إلى الملاحظات الختامية للجنة حقوق الطفل في عام 2002 بعد النظر في التقرير الأوَّلي لسيشيل، حيث أعربت اللجنة عن قلقها إزاء العقوبة البدنية على الأطفال، وأوصت بشن حملات تثقيف عامة عن الآثار السلبية لهذه العقوبة وتعزيز الضوابط الإيجابية وتوفير التدريب المهني المتصل بذلك للأشخاص العاملين مع الأطفال أو لصالحهم(8).

(d) Capacity-building and training initiatives should be developed to ensure that those working with and for children have the necessary knowledge and skills, and abide by child rights principles and ethical standards when providing children with counselling when interviewing or supporting them in reporting and complaint proceedings or in relevant recovery and reintegration programmes.
(د) ينبغي وضع مبادرات بناء القدرات والتدريب لضمان حصول من يعملون مع الأطفال أو لصالحهم على المعارف والمهارات اللازمة، وتقييدهم بمبادئ حقوق الطفل والمعايير الأخلاقية عند إسداء المشورة للأطفال أثناء إجراء المقابلات معهم أو تقديم الدعم لهم في إجراءات الإبلاغ والتظلم أو في برامج التعافي وإعادة التأهيل ذات الصلة.
