23. The proposed budget for MONUSCO for the period 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015 amounts to $1,380,028,900 gross ($1,354,484,100 net), representing a decrease of $73,329,100, or 5.0 per cent, in gross terms, compared with the appropriation of $1,453,358,000 for 2013/14.

Accordingly, the proposed requirements provide for the replacement of IT equipment in line with standard replacement ratios as opposed to provisions during the 2007/08 period, when replacements were based on an average of 9 per cent, which is significantly below the standard replacement rate of 25 per cent.
