132. This third reporting process on the implementation of the UNCCD in regions other than Africa has proved to be fruitful in terms of both the quantity and the quality of reports received from organs, funds and programmes of the United Nations system as well as from other IGOs.
132- لقد أثبتت عملية تقديم التقارير الثالثة هذه بشأن تنفيذ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر في مناطق خلاف أفريقيا أنها عملية مفيدة من حيث كمية وكذلك نوعية التقارير الواردة من هيئات وصناديق وبرامج منظومة الأمم المتحدة ومن المنظمات الحكومية الدولية الأخرى.

1. This document reviews reports received as at 31 May 2006 from organs, funds and programmes of the United Nations system, as well as intergovernmental organizations accredited to the Conference of the Parties, on activities undertaken in support of the implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in affected country Parties of regions other than Africa, from 2002 to date.
1- تستعرض هذه الوثيقة التقارير التي قدمتها حتى تاريخ 31 أيار/مايو 2006، هيئات منظومة الأمم المتحدة وصناديقها وبرامجها وكذلك المنظمات الحكومية الدولية المعتمدة لدى مؤتمر الأطراف بشأن الأنشطة التي قامت بها دعماً لتنفيذ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر في البلدان الأطراف المتأثرة من مناطق خلاف أفريقيا من سنة 2002 إلى اليوم.

4. Decision 9/COP.7 states that the Committee, at its fifth session, shall review, inter alia, the information provided by relevant organs, funds and programmes of the United Nations system, as well as other IGOs and NGOs, on their activities in support of the implementation of the Convention in affected country Parties of regions other than Africa.
4- وينص المقرر 9/م أ-7 على أن تقوم اللجنة في دورتها الخامسة، في جملة أمور، باستعراض المعلومات المقدمة من هيئات الأمم المتحدة وصناديقها وبرامجهـا ذات الصلـة، ومـن المنظمات الحكومية الدولية والمنظمات غير الحكومية الأخرى، بشأن أنشطتها الرامية إلى دعم تنفيذ الاتفاقية في البلدان الأطراف المتأثرة في مناطق خلاف أفريقيا.
