Her delegation therefore commended the Government of Portugal for having hosted the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in August 1998, and supported the measures proposed in the Lisbon Declaration on Youth Policies and Programmes. It also welcomed the recommendations of the Third World Youth Forum of the United Nations System, which were designed to promote youth participation for human development.
