The first of those objectives aimed at establishing a single apparatus combining the tasks CAMI and of the Alliance for Africa's Industrialization (AAI), with an independent secretariat supported by UNIDO, the African Union and the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).

77. UNIDO has proposed and elaborated an alliance for Africa's Industrialization, as an industry-specific complement to the United Nations System-wide Special Initiative on Africa.

The second, entitled " Reorientation of the Conference of African Ministers of Industry " will examine, among other issues, the relationship between the Conference and the Alliance for Africa's Industrialization as the main organs dealing with Africa-wide industrialization.
