Vast political, economic and ecological crises persist in many parts of the world. Among them are wars of aggression, armed conflicts, colonial or other forms of alien domination or foreign occupation, civil wars and terrorism.
إذ تسود أنحاء كثيرة من العالم أزمات سياسية واقتصادية وإيكولوجية واسعة النطاق، من بينها الحروب العدوانية والنزاعات المسلحة والسيطرة الاستعمارية أو غيرها من أشكال السيطرة اﻷجنبية أو الاحتلال اﻷجنبي والحروب اﻷهلية واﻹرهاب.

It was reassuring that the world summit convened on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations had adopted a clear position in that regard by stating in the final declaration that the States Members of the United Nations would continue to reaffirm the right of self-determination of all peoples, taking into account the particular situation of peoples under colonial or other forms of alien domination or foreign occupation.
٤٨ - وأضافت قائلة إنه من المطمئن اتخاذ مؤتمر القمة العالمي المعقود بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية الخمسين لقيام اﻷمم المتحدة، موقفا واضحا في هذا الصدد عندما ذكر في إعلانه الختامي أن الدول اﻷعضاء في اﻷمم المتحدة ستواصل إعادة تأكيد حق جميع الشعوب في تقرير المصير آخذة في الاعتبار الحالة الخاصة للشعوب التي تخضع للسيطرة الاستعمارية أو لغيرها من أشكال السيطرة اﻷجنبية أو الاحتلال اﻷجنبي.

In fact, section I, paragraph 2, of the Vienna Declaration states: " Taking into account the particular situation of peoples under colonial or other forms of alien domination or foreign occupation ... " .
ففي الواقع تنص الفقرة ٢ من الفرع اﻷول من إعلان فيينا على أن المؤتمر " إذ يأخذ في اعتباره الحالة الخاصة للشعوب الخاضعة للسيطرة الاستعمارية أو غير ذلك من أشكال السيطرة اﻷجنبية أو الاحتلال اﻷجنبي ... " .
