The Co-Chairs recalled that Thailand provided information in 2012 which highlighted efforts to implement the Convention on the Rights of Persons of Disabilities in a manner which takes into account its obligations to assist landmine and other ERW survivors including through supporting sustainable community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programmes.

25. The ISU's ability to disseminate information and knowledge on victim assistance was enhanced through the development of the publication entitled Assisting landmine and other ERW survivors in the context of disarmament, disability and development.

4. Laws and Policies: Laws are in place to prohibit the marginalisation of landmine and other ERW survivors as well as other persons with disabilities in areas including healthcare, education, employment, public services, legal provisions and political rights.

In the Mine Action Sector, 10,766,425 square metres of landmine and other explosive remnants of war-affected areas were cleared, 4,052 anti-personnel and 1,482 anti-tank mines were destroyed, 162,015 pieces of small arms ammunition and 52,846 unexploded ordnance were destroyed, and 340,471 people benefited from mine-risk education.

Yemen noted that survivors of landmines and other ERW have been identified by survey and have been through an examination phase in order to be provided with medical support in accordance with their needs.
