34. Upon enquiry, the Advisory Committee was informed that regulation 4.18 of the Financial Regulations and Rules of the United Nations provides that income derived from investments shall be credited as provided in the rules relating to each fund or account.

In addition, regulation 5.4 of the Regulations and Rules requires the balance of any appropriation that remains at the end of the 12-month period to be surrendered.
