325. The World Food Programme was established initially on an experimental basis, as a joint programme of the United Nations and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), by the General Assembly in its resolution 1714 (XVI) of 19 December 1961.
٣٢٥ - أنشئ برنامج اﻷغذية العالمي مبدئيا على أساس تجريبي، كبرنامج مشترك بين اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمــة اﻷمـم المتحدة لﻷغذية والزراعة )الفاو(، وذلك من قبل الجمعية العامة في قرارها ٤١٧١ )د - ٦١( المؤرخ في ٩١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٦٩١.

The violation of article 12 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is flagrant as regards freedom of travel, to which persons lawfully within the territory of any State are entitled, a principle that was reaffirmed by the General Assembly in its resolution 57/227, entitled " Respect for the right to universal freedom of travel and the vital importance of family reunification " .

Recalls the appeal made by the General Assembly in its resolution 46/122 of 17 December 1991 to all Governments to respond favourably to requests for contributions to the Fund and urges them and non-governmental organizations, other private or public entities and individuals to contribute to the Fund and encourages them to do so in order to enable the Fund to fulfil its mandate effectively in the year 2002;
