(3) While noting the active participation of the Department of Public Information of the Secretariat in the work of the Committee and its efforts to produce and disseminate information on decolonization, to monitor the responses received from the United Nations information centres and to report thereon, the Special Committee requests the Department:
)٣( في حين أن اللجنة الخاصة تلاحظ المشاركة النشطة من جانب إدارة شؤون اﻹعلام باﻷمانة العامة في أعمال اللجنة وجهودها الرامية الى انتاج ونشر معلومات عن إنهاء الاستعمار، ورصد الردود الواردة من مراكز اﻹعلام التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة والتعريف بها، فإن اللجنة الخاصة تطلب من اﻹدارة:

(4) The Special Committee requests the Department of Public Information to provide it with feedback reports from the United Nations information centres regarding their dissemination of information on decolonization and, in particular, on the activities undertaken in 1991 in observance of the Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of All Colonial Territories, as well as Those in South Africa, Fighting for Freedom, Independence and Human Rights.
)٤( وتطلب اللجنة الخاصة من إدارة شؤون اﻹعلام أن تزودها بما يرد من مراكز اﻹعلام التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة من تقارير تتضمن أنباء نشر تلك المراكز للمعلومات المتصلة بإنهاء الاستعمار، ولا سيما ما يتعلق منها باﻷنشطة التي تنظم في عام ١٩٩١ للاحتفال بأسبوع التضامن مع شعوب جميع اﻷقاليم المستعمرة التي تناضل من أجل الحرية والاستقلال وحقوق الانسان وكذلك مع الذين يناضلون في سبيلها في جنوب افريقيا.

Among these are 20 United Nations information centres (as opposed to 18 in the summer of 1996), 97 diplomatic representatives (for the most part those located in the Netherlands and Belgium, but also in the successor States to the former Yugoslavia - 86 in 1996) and 853 universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, ministries, legal practitioners and individuals (as compared with only 560 last year).
