Invoking the national responsibility and believing in the purposes and principles of the Pact of the League of Arab States and the Charter of the United Nations, Declare that we shall undertake the following:
وانطلاقا من المسؤولية القومية، وإيمانا بمبادئ وأهداف ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية وميثاق الأمم المتحدة، نعلن ما يلي:

Development of the Joint Arab Action system: amendments to some articles of the Pact of the League of Arab States
تعديل بعض مواد ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية

I. To make the following amendments to the Pact of the League of Arab States:
أولاً: إدخال التعديلات التالية على ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية:

Pursuant to the principles and goals of the Charter of the League of Arab States,
استناداً إلى مبادئ وأهداف ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية،

Affirming our deep belief in the principles and goals of the Charter of the League of Arab States, the need to strive to achieve its goals, strengthen its role in all areas and earnestly commit to collective Arab action,
إعـلان دمشـق وتأكيدا لإيماننا العميق بمبادئ وأهداف ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية، وبضرورة العمل على تحقيق أهدافهـا وتعزيـز دورها في مختلـف المجالات والالتزام بالجدية في عملنا الجماعي العربي،

The same may be said of the orientations underlying the proposed amendments to the Pact of the League of Arab States.
ونفس الشيء يقال بالنسبة للتوجهات التي رسا الاختيار عليها لمراجعة ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية.

Guided by the principles of the Pact of the League of Arab States,
وإذ يسترشد بمبادئ ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية،

Guided by the purposes and principles of the Pact of the League of Arab States,
- وإذ يسترشد بمبادئ ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية وأهدافها.

Guided by the principles of the Pact of the League of Arab States,

Guided by the purposes and principles of the Pact of the League of Arab States,

Pursuant to the provisions of article 6 of the Pact of the League of Arab States,
- وبناء على أحكام المادة السادسة من ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية،

It underlines the signatories' commitment to the Pact of the League of Arab States and the Charter of the United Nations, as well as all other international instruments to which they are parties.
وتؤكد التزام الأطراف الموقعة على ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية وميثاق الأمم المتحدة، بالإضافة إلى الصكوك الدولية الأخرى التي هي أطراف فيها.

Proceeding also on the basis of the Charter of the League of Arab States and the pacts for joint Arab action,
- واستنادا الى ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية ومواثيق العمل العربي المشترك، يقرر

Pursuant to the provisions of article 19 of the Charter of the League of Arab States,
- واستنادا إلى أحكام المادة 19 من ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية،

Pursuant to the goals and principles of the Charter of the League of Arab States and in response to the changes the world has witnessed and which have cast their shadow across the Arab region,
استناداً إلى الأهداف والمبادئ الواردة في ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية واستجابة للمتغيرات التي شهدها العالم وألقت بظلالها على المنطقة العربية.

the Charter of the League of Arab States was identified as a regional human rights document that diverges from international human rights standards, including those in treaties ratified by the member States of the League.
كما أن ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية ذكر تحديداً بأنه تخرج عن وثيقة معايير حقوق الإنسان الدولية، بما فيها تلك المنصوص عليها في معاهدات صدقت عليها الدول الأعضاء في الجامعة.

Proceeding from the Charter of the League of Arab States, in both letter and spirit, and the resolutions and instruments adopted by the League of Arab States at summit level concerning the promotion and development of joint Arab action,
انطلاقاً من ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية، بنصه وروحه، ومن القرارات والوثائق الصادرة عن مجلس جامعة الدول العربية على مستوى القمة بشأن تحديث العمل العربي المشترك وتطويره،

The challenges which the Arab world has faced in recent years, some of which I have presented, have proven what has been affirmed previously, namely that the current mechanisms and Charter of the League of Arab States are no longer adequate to meet current needs.
