In his statement on behalf of Mr. Klaus Töpfer, Executive Director of UNEP, Mr. Shafqat Kakakhel, Deputy Executive Director of UNEP, welcomed participants to Nairobi, the headquarters of the Ozone Secretariat.

The consultants were identified, with the assistance of the Director of the Information Technology Services Division at United Nations Headquarters, and the terms of reference for the study were developed in close collaboration with the Programme Coordination and Monitoring Unit of the Office of the Deputy Executive Director of UNEP, other UNEP divisions, as well as many of the donor and sponsor countries.
وعُيِّنَ الخبراء الاستشاريون بمساعدة من مدير شعبة خدمات تكنولوجيا المعلومات في مقر الأمم المتحدة ، ووضع اختصاص الدراسة بالتعاون الوثيق مع وحدة تنسيق ورصد البرنامج في مكتب نائب المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة ، وأقسام برنامج البيئة الأخرى ، وكذلك الكثير من البلدان المانحة والراعية .

Mr. Saksit Tridech, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, welcomed the meeting participants and Mr. Shafqat Kakakhel, Deputy Executive Director of UNEP, made opening remarks on behalf of Mr. Achim Steiner, Executive Director of UNEP.
