The aim of these programmes is to foster better understanding between men and women, to maximize the contributions of both men and women to the work of the Organization, and to promote an active and visible policy on mainstreaming the gender perspective in the work of the Organization.

فينبغي للحكومات ومنظومة الأمم المتحدة أن تشجع انتهاج سياسة نشطة وواضحة لتعميم المنظور الجنساني في جميع سياسات وبرامج القضاء على الفقر على المستويين الوطني والدولي.

1. Accelerate action in promoting an active and visible policy of mainstreaming a gender perspective in policies and programmes in all political, economic and social spheres through the implementation of:

رحب بالفرص التي أتاحتها عملية الاصلاح في اﻷمم المتحدة من أجل زيادة تنسيق القضايا المتعلقة بالجنسين وادماجها في اﻷنشطة الرئيسية كجزء من اطار استراتيجي ، وأكد من جديد أنه ينبغي أن تدرج في اﻷنشطة التنفيذية الانمائية سياسة نشطة وواضحة للعيان لادماج القضايا المتعلقة بالجنسين في اﻷنشطة الرئيسية

123. In addressing violence against women, Governments and other actors should promote an active and visible policy of mainstreaming a gender perspective in all policies and programmes so that before decisions are taken an analysis may be made of their effects on women and men, respectively.

In the 1998-1999 and 2000-2001 bienniums, UNEP developed a project to foster an active and visible policy of gender mainstreaming in the monitoring and evaluation of all policies and programmes and to increase understanding of the role of gender in environmental planning and management.

7. In the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing from 4 to 15 September 1995, Governments committed themselves to the promotion of an active and visible policy of mainstreaming a gender perspective into all policies and programmes, including with regard to human rights of women.
7- ألزمت الحكومات نفسها، بموجب إعلان ومنهاج عمل بيجين الذي اعتمد في المؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة المنعقد في بيجين في الفترة من 4 إلى 15 أيلول/سبتمبر 1995، بتعزيز سياسة نشطة وواضحة لإدماج منظور لنوع الجنس ضمن جميع السياسات والبرامج، بما في ذلك ما يتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمرأة(5).

3. In Beijing the Platform for Action (A/CONF.177/20), Governments, in addressing issues concerning children and youth, were called on to promote an active and visible policy of mainstreaming a gender perspective into all policies and programmes, so that, before decisions are taken, an analysis is made of the effects on girls and boys, respectively (para. 273).
