14. Already in 1993, the Committee noted in the report of its fourth session that it " recognized the importance of the question of corporal punishment in improving the system of promotion and protection of the rights of the child and decided to continue to devote attention to it in the process of examining States parties' reports " .
ومنذ عام 1993 لاحظت اللجنة في تقرير دورتها الرابعة أنها " تدرك ما تتسم به مسألة العقوبة البدنية من أهمية في تحسين نظام تعزيز حقوق الطفل وحمايتها، وتقرر مواصلة الاهتمام بهذه المسألة لدى نظرها في التقارير المقدمة من الدول الأطراف " ().

66. At its eighth session the committee had decided to discontinue its practice of including in its annual report summaries of the consideration of country reports.
66- وكانت اللجنة قد قررت في دورتها الثامنة إيقاف العمل بممارستها القاضية بأن يشتمل تقريرها السنوي على ملخصات لما دار أثناء نظرها في التقارير المقدمة من الدول الأطراف.

In the same period, the Committee has also raised issues related to the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography during the consideration of State party reports under the Convention, usually under the headings " sexual exploitation and trafficking " or " sale and traffic " in the section devoted to special protection measures.

The Committee shall make suggestions and recommendations of a general nature on the basis of its consideration of reports submitted by States parties and of the reports submitted by the specialized agencies in order to assist the Council to fulfil, in particular, its responsibilities under articles 21 and 22 of the Covenant.

Pursuant to rule 64 of its rules of procedure, the Committee may wish to make suggestions and recommendations of a general nature on the basis of its consideration of reports submitted by States parties and the reports submitted by specialized agencies, in order to assist the Council to fulfil, in particular, its responsibilities under articles 21 and 22 of the Covenant.
عملاً بالمادة 64 من نظام اللجنة الداخلي، قد تود اللجنة أن تتقدم باقتراحات وتوصيات ذات طابع عام على أساس نظرها في التقارير المقدمة من الدول الأطراف والتقارير المقدمة من الوكالات المتخصصة من أجل مساعدة المجلس، بوجه خاص، على الوفاء بمسؤولياته بموجب المادتين 21 و22 من العهد.

24. The Committee on the Rights of the Child continued to give significant attention to gender issues in its work and continued to raise systematically issues of gender discrimination and the human rights of girls in its examination of reports presented by States parties on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
24- واصلت لجنة حقوق الطفل إيلاء اهتمام كبير في عملها للقضايا المتعلقة بالتمايز بين الجنسين، كما أنها ما برحت تثير بصورة منتظمة قضايا التمييز بين الجنسين وحقوق الإنسان الخاصة بالفتيات، وذلك في إطار نظرها في التقارير المقدمة من الدول الأطراف بشأن تنفيذ اتفاقية حقوق الطفل.
