The task force will be chaired by members of the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel and will consist of experts on indigenous and local knowledge systems selected in accordance with the rules of procedure.

The Plenary may wish to consider the information contained in the above-mentioned documents with a view to providing guidance on the further development of the roster and network of experts, the participatory mechanism and the procedures and approaches to working with indigenous and local knowledge systems.
وقد يرغب الاجتماع العام في أن ينظر في المعلومات الواردة في الوثائق المشار إليها أعلاه بهدف تقديم توجيهات بشأن مواصلة وضع جدول وشبكة الخبراء، والآلية التشاركية والإجراءات والنُّهج اللازمة للعمل مع نظم المعارف الأصلية والمحلية.

The final draft procedures and approaches for working with indigenous and local knowledge systems are reviewed by the Panel and the Bureau, the members of the Platform and other stakeholders before being submitted to the Plenary at its fourth session for consideration with a view to their approval for use across ongoing and future Platform deliverables

The purpose of the task force on indigenous and local knowledge is to support achievement of deliverable 1 (c) of the work programme, concerning procedures for and approaches to working with indigenous and local knowledge systems.
يتمثل هدف فرقة العمل المعنية بالمعارف الأصلية والمحلية في دعم تحقيق الناتج 1 (ج) من برنامج العمل، المتعلق بالإجراءات والنُهج المتبعة في العمل مع نظم المعارف الأصلية والمحلية.

To undertake work to facilitate the input of indigenous and local knowledge systems to deliverables 1 (d), 2, 3 and 4 (c), in particular in piloting the preliminary procedures and approaches for working with indigenous and local knowledge systems in the fast-track, thematic, regional and subregional assessments.
(ب) الاضطلاع بالعمل لتيسير مساهمة نظم المعارف الأصلية والمحلية في تحقيق النواتج 1 (د)، و2 و3 و4 (ج)، لا سيما توجيه الإجراءات والنُهج الأولية المتبعة في العمل مع نظم المعارف الأصلية والمحلية في عمليات التقييم السريعة المسار والمواضيعية والإقليمية ودون الإقليمية.

In addition to findings at regional or transboundary levels, locallevel patterns and processes are also important for taking into account diversity of animals, plants and peoples in the subregions, the relative gaps in science-based knowledge, as well as access to and information from indigenous and local knowledge systems.

The proposed assessment will focus on these policy issues, adding a review of evidence from indigenous and local knowledge systems, with a more explicit consideration of ecosystem services, using a regional approach and through the filter of the four functions of the Platform, relating to the identification of knowledge gaps, capacity-building needs, links to decision makers and the provision of tools and guidelines for policymaking.

Expert workshop on the contribution of indigenous and local knowledge systems to the Platform convened by the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel in Tokyo from 9 to 11 June 2013, hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Japan, and organized jointly by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations University, which provided the basis for further work by the Platform on indigenous and local knowledge;
