Pursuant to rule 15 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General wishes to report that he has received a letter dated 6 May 1998 from the Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations, stating that Ms. Marcela Maria Nicodemos and Mr. Antonio José Ferreira Simões have been appointed alternate representatives of Brazil on the Security Council.

44. Ms. Nicodemos (Brazil) introduced draft resolution A/C.3/53/L.35, and said that Guinea-Bissau and Senegal had become sponsors of the draft resolution.
