The Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands considers the said reservations incompatible with the object and purpose of the Convention.

In the same vein, article 51, paragraph 2, of the Convention on the Rights of the Child only prohibited reservations that were incompatible with the object and purpose of the Convention.

Although some of the reservations formulated during the reporting period concern provisions that are subject to safeguard clauses or that leave a wide discretion to parties for their implementation, others relate to mandatory provisions of the 1988 Convention and raise the question of their compatibility with the object and purpose of the Convention.
7 - وعلى حين أن بعض التحفظات التي أبديت أثناء الفترة التي يشملها التقرير تنصب على أحكام خاضعة لشروط وقائية أو تترك مجالا واسعا لتقدير الأطراف مدى ملاءمة تطبيقها، فإن تحفظات أخرى أبديت على أحكام إلزامية في اتفاقية عام 1988 وتثير مسألة توافقها مع هدف الاتفاقية والغرض منها.

Encourages States to limit the extent of any reservation they lodge to the Convention and to formulate any reservation as precisely and as narrowly as possible while ensuring that no reservation is incompatible with the object and purpose of the Convention or otherwise contrary to international law;
٨١ - تشجع الدول على الحد من مدى أي تحفظ يكون لديها على الاتفاقية وأن تصوغ تحفظاتها بأكبر دقة ممكنة وفي أضيق نطاق ممكن بينما تكفل ألا يكون أي تحفظ متعارضا مع هدف الاتفاقية والغرض منها أو متعارضا بخلاف هذا مع القانون الدولي؛
