59 - وأضاف أن جنوب أفريقيا وّقعت نظام روما الأساسي وصدقته وأكملت القوانين المتعلقة بتنفيذ النظام الأساسي، وبهذا أصبحت قادرة على التعاون تعاونا كاملا مع المحكمة وعلى أن تقاضي في جنوب أفريقيا من ارتكب الجرائم المنصوص عليها في النظام الأساسي.

8. South Africa welcomed the establishment of the United Nations-supervised Gaza Reconstruction Mechanism and the announcement by the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process that reconstruction material was finally being released by Israel into Gaza.

24. South Africa, for its part, together with India and Brazil, had pledged $3 million to Palestine, including $1 million for projects in Gaza, in the hope of contributing to the development of conditions conducive to peace talks.

69. South Africa had met its reporting obligations under Security Council resolutions 1373 (2001), 1390 (2002) and 1455 (2003) and was considering ways to assist other States of its region with the implementation of resolution 1373 (2001).

South Africa had joined forces with the rest of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in a quest for more information. The SADC Ministers of Health, meeting in August 2004, had decided to set up a standing committee of experts on human cloning for therapeutic purposes to advise them on how to proceed, as well as monitoring global trends and developing a regulatory and policy framework.
وأضاف أن جنوب أفريقيا انضمت إلى بقية البلدان في الجماعة الإنمائية للجنوب الأفريقي في سعيها من أجل المزيد من المعلومات، وقد قرر وزراء الصحة في الجماعة الإنمائية للجنوب الأفريقي، في اجتماعهم في آب/أغسطس 2004 إنشاء لجنة دائمة من الخبراء معنية باستنساخ البشر لأغراض علاجية وذلك لإسداء النصح لهم عن كيفية المضي قدما، وكذلك مراقبة الاتجاهات العالمية وإعداد إطار رقابي وخاص بالسياسات العامة.
