7. The Secretary-General wishes to draw the attention of the General Committee to the following resolutions and report of the Secretary-General in relation to the administrative and financial functioning of the Organization:

8. The Secretary-General wishes to draw the attention of the General Committee to the following resolutions and report of the Secretary-General in relation to the administrative and financial functioning of the Organization:

It asks the Security Council, based on its authority and on the report of the United Nations investigation mission, to step up its efforts for peace in order to bring an end to the hostilities. CELAC is of the view that if chemical weapons use is verified, those responsible should not go unpunished.

A note verbale was sent by the Secretariat of the United Nations to the Permanent Missions to the United Nations referring to General Assembly resolution 54/113 of 10 December 1999 on the United Nations Year of Dialogue among Civilizations, and also to the report of the Secretary-General on the subject (A/54/546) which was submitted to the Assembly at its fifty-fourth session in accordance with resolution 53/22.
