The Ouagadougou preliminary agreement of 18 June 2013, signed by the Government of Mali, HCUA and MNLA, had established the Commission to develop implementation modalities and monitor the ceasefire, as well as investigate possible violations through joint observation and verification teams to be established in Gao, Kidal and Timbuktu.

(a) The Security Council should reiterate that the political process, as agreed to by the parties in the Ouagadougou preliminary agreement of 18 June 2013, remains the cornerstone of the implementation of the mandate, and reframe the Mission's political role as one that includes " good offices and facilitation support " for the process, including coordination of regional and international initiatives;

" The Security Council welcomes the commencement of the inter-Malian negotiation process in Algiers on 16 July 2014, in line with its resolutions 2100 (2013) and 2164 (2014), the statement by its President (S/2014/2), its previous press statements, as well as the 18 June 2013 Ouagadougou preliminary Agreement, and which aims to achieve a comprehensive peace agreement ending the crisis.
