In addition to these special presentations organized by COSPAR and IAF at the request of the Subcommittee, delegations of member States arranged a number of scientific and technical presentations by specialists in space science, technology and applications relating to various items on the agenda of the Subcommittee.
٣ - وباﻹضافة الى هذه البيانات الخاصة التي نظمتها لجنة أبحاث الفضاء والاتحاد الدولي للملاحة الفلكية بدعوة من اللجنة الفرعية، أعدت وفود الدول اﻷعضاء عددا من البيانات العلمية والتقنية؛ وقدمها اخصائيون في علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء والتطبيقات الفضائية المتصلة بمختلف بنود جدول أعمال اللجنة الفرعية.

At this point I should like, personally and on behalf of the Committee, to thank both COSPAR and the IAF for sponsoring and assisting in the organization of a most interesting symposium on the 1994 theme and for their continuing support of the work of the Committee and its two subsidiary bodies.

2. The symposium was the ninth to be organized by COSPAR and IAF during the annual meetings of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee, with the topic for each year selected by the Subcommittee at the previous session.

٣ - وبالاضافة الى العروض الخاصة التي نظمتها لجنة أبحاث الفضاء والاتحاد الدولي للملاحة الفلكية بناء على طلب اللجنة الفرعية ، قدمت وفود الدول اﻷعضاء عددا من العروض العلمية والتقنية أعدها أخصائيون في علوم الفضاء وتطبيقاتها المتصلة بالبنود المختلفة في جدول أعمال اللجنة الفرعية .

The symposium was organized in accordance with the recommendations of the Subcommittee at its twenty-ninth session, in 1992, that the theme fixed for special attention at the 1993 session be " Space-based communication: the expansion of current services and increased understanding of new systems and the services they will make possible " and that COSPAR and IAF be invited to arrange a symposium on the subject.
وقد نظمت الندوة وفقا لتوصيتي اللجنة الفرعية الصادرتين عنها في دورتها التاسعة والعشرين المعقودة في عام ١٩٩٢، ومؤداها أن يكون الموضوع المحدد للاهتمام به على نحو خاص في دورة عام ١٩٩٣ هو " الاتصالات ذات القواعد الفضائية: التوسع في الخدمات الحالية وزيادة تفهم النظم الجديدة والخدمات التي ستتيحها " ، وأن تدعى لجنة أبحاث الفضاء والاتحاد الدولي للملاحة الفلكية الى ترتيب ندوة عن الموضوع.

وأوصت اللجنة بدعوة لجنة أبحاث الفضاء )كوسبار( والاتحاد الدولي للملاحة الفلكية )إياف( ، بالاتصال مع الدول اﻷعضاء ، الى تنظيم ندوة تكون المشاركة فيها على أوسع نطاق ممكن وتعقد أثناء الاسبوع اﻷول للدورة السابعة والثلاثين ، من أجل استكمال مناقشات اللجنة الفرعية حول الموضوع الخاص .

Austria has always been active in promoting space cooperation between industrialized and developing countries, both through its active engagement in the relevant committees of COSPAR and the IAF and by special initiatives.
وما فتئت النمسا تعمل بنشاط على تعزيز التعاون في مجال الفضاء بين البلدان الصناعية والنامية وذلك من خلال مشاركتها النشطة في اللجان ذات الصلة في لجنة أبحاث الفضاء والاتحاد الدولي للملاحة الفلكية وعن طريق مبادرات خاصة على حد سواء.

The Office for Outer Space Affairs has continued its close cooperation with COSPAR and the IAF, and I would like to express our appreciation for the support these organizations provided in 1993.
